The University Information System provides each user (i.e., all students and employees of Mendel University in Brno) with a mailbox with an email address used for various university purposes (communication between students and teachers, sending study results, providing information and study materials to students, etc.). The email address has the format login@node.mendelu.cz. Along with this mailbox, each user also has an email address UID@node.mendelu.cz, where UID is the user's identification number. This mailbox remains available to the user to a limited extent even after the completion of studies or employment for future communication with MENDELU. The email mailbox is provided to all employees and students in the cloud service Microsoft 365.
Delivery of University Mail
The application is used to set up one distribution server for receiving all user mail delivered to any university account (email address). The designated and configured server will be the main server for delivering the user's mail. The configured server is highlighted. Mail servers to which the user is entitled are always displayed.
Distribution Servers
- Microsoft 365 (o365.mendelu.cz) (default and recommended email solution for employees and students)
- uis (is.mendelu.cz, University Information System) (legacy email solution)
- mail (mail.mendelu.cz, Main User Server of MENDELU) (main local email solution)
E-mail Forwarding
Most students and employees have email set up in Microsoft 365. In this solution, if necessary, set up email forwarding to a private address. DO NOT SET UP Email Forwarding in UIS.
- Login to Microsoft 365
- Click on the gear icon on the right (Settings)
- Select Mail -> Accounts - Forwarding
